It's Looking More Like Reality

I got the edited version of Chaos Magic back today. To writers, editors are either demons or angels. There is no middle ground. My take on it is that editors 1) keep me from looking like an idiot, and 2) step in for the reader and say, "Huh?" when I fail to make things clear. That puts editors firmly in the angel category. At least this one. Every comment she's made, I've nodded and thought, yeah, she's right. I was being lazy. I did back away when I should have gone deeper into the scene. That doesn't make any sense. Ego be damned. I want the best version of my story possible, and she's helping me get there. Yay!
